David Winfield is a Chartered Management Accountant who came to us in February as he wanted to improve his Google rankings for his chosen keywords: Accountant, Bookkeeping, Taxation and VAT all within his local area of Lincoln.  We got him on Page 1 for all of them!

Initially we concentrated on some basics like making sure that his home page included key information about his services. We noticed that while giving plenty of detail about specific services, there was actually no mention of the term ‘accountant’ anywhere in his home page so that had to be addressed!

We then moved on to update his page title to ensure his location and keywords were listed as well as ensuring he had unique and relevant descriptions for each page. Some of the important keywords were highlighted in bold text on each page and headings were added to incorporate the term ‘accountant’ and ‘Lincoln’.

Next the site was submitted to around 100 relevant business directories and 50 Search Engines.  A privacy policy was added to the main index as well as a testimonial page which was populated with recent customer testimonials.

Some of the pages were reworded to try improve the overall feel of the site and to ensure that they read well and covered the benefits of his Company and services. During the following weeks, the site was submitted to a further 150 relevant business directories.

When he first came to us, his Google rankings were:

There were steady improvements in the ranking over the first month but by the middle of month 3 he was showing page 1 rankings for all of his keywords:

David has now reached the point where he feels that his business is placed extremely well for attracting new clients and is happy with the work completed on the site. It’s been a case of improving his Google rankings so quickly that we’ve made our services redundant!

He now wants to take a step back and reap the benefits it has added to his business but has assured us that he will back should he see any slip in rankings to ensure he can capitalise on the success we’ve had so far.
